I’m sorry I fell off the newsletter planet, but I’m back and better than ever on a brand-new platform! I switched over to Substack and I’m so excited to word-vomit all over these internet streets. But just because time has passed and we’re meeting someplace new, don’t fret, my interests have stayed the same. But while you wait for tomorrow with bated breath, I figured I’d leave you with a cocktail recipe to soothe your nerves and remind you of the good old days!
The Spicy Sweet Grinch Cocktail
Ingredients
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
2-4 finely chopped fresh mint leaves, plus more for serving
2 ounces vodka
Juice from 1/2 lime juice
Juice from 1/2 of a small grapefruit
2 teaspoons honey
1-2 jalapeño slices
Ginger beer for topping
Pomegranate arils, for serving
Directions
1. On a shallow plate, combine the sugar and mint. Rim your glass in sugar, then fill with ice.
2. Combine the vodka, lime juice, grapefruit juice, honey, and jalapeños in a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice and shake until combined, about 1 minute. Strain into your prepared glass. Top with ginger beer and garnish as desired.
*Note: As someone who cut down their alcohol intake by a lot (like a lot) and might want to enjoy this alcohol-free, I would just skip the vodka and add extra ginger beer or even ginger ale if you like your drinks a little sweeter.
